Between school schedules, activities, and the general chaos of family life, annual well-child visits are easy to let slip — especially once your child seems perfectly healthy. But a yearly well check does more than confirm your child isn’t sick. It’s how we catch what a healthy-looking day-to-day can’t show you.

Why an annual visit matters, even when your child seems fine
- Growth tracking over time. A single measurement doesn’t tell us much — it’s the year-over-year pattern that shows whether your child is growing and developing on track.
- Development milestones. From motor skills to speech to social-emotional growth, we check age-specific milestones every year so small delays are caught early, when early support makes the biggest difference.
- Vaccines, on schedule. Well visits are when we make sure your child’s immunizations stay current — no scrambling before school enrollment or sports physicals.
- A relationship with your provider. Seeing the same provider annually means they know your child’s history and can spot small changes that a first-time visit might miss.
- A standing check-in for you, too. It’s a built-in, no-pressure moment to ask questions about behavior, sleep, screen time, nutrition, or other issues.
Our recommendation
We recommend every child see their provider for a well check once a year after the age of three, regardless of how healthy they seem. It’s the single best way to make sure your child stays on track for healthy growth and development.
Need a Sports Physical?
If your child has seen their provider within the past year for a well check, then no appointment is needed! Just bring the paper work in or send it electronically to their provider for a signature. If your child hasn’t been in for a well check, an appointment for a physical can be scheduled for $75.
